Du Zhen-Jun

Né en 1961 à Shanghaï, Du Zhen-Jun, après avoir étudié la peinture traditionnelle à l'école des Beaux-Arts de Shanghai, découvre l'art occidental, s'intéresse à l'art abstrait, à la photographie et aux installations. À partir de son séjour aux Beaux-Arts de Rennes (1998), il s'oriente vers l'art multimédia, convaincu que les arts numériques sont les plus aptes à rendre compte du monde contemporain. Il poursuit sa recherche artistique en utilisant la photographie, le collage-assemblage et renoue avec la pratique de la peinture.

Révélé au public par son exposition Être humain trop lourd (Festival d'automne, Paris, 2003) ou Ni dedans / ni dehors (Musée-Château d'Annecy, 2007), Du Zhen-Jun vit et travaille entre Paris et Shanghai.

Du Zhen-Jun was born in Shanghai in 1961. After studying traditional painting at the University of Shanghai's School of Fine Arts, he discovered Western art and took an interest in abstract art, photography and installations. Following his studies at the School of Fine Arts in Rennes (France) in 1998, he turned to multimedia tools, convinced that digital art is the best suited to expressing our contemporary world. He continued his artistic research with photography and collage-assemblage, and took up painting again.

Du Zhen-Jun came to public attention in France with his exhibition Être Humain Trop Lourd (Festival d'Automne, Paris, 2003) and Ni Dedans / Ni Dehors (Musée-Château d'Annecy, 2007). He lives and works in Paris and Shanghai.
