HCI-Aero 2006

Proceedings

International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction in Aeronautics

In Aeronautics the process of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) is developing from control and display support to cognitive aiding and optimization partnerships. With the continued growth of information technology, expansion of computer applications, complexity of the systems, and the increased performance demands in aerospace, HCI has become a key factor in aerospace systems.

The papers in this proceedings represent current research in this domain. Subjects covered include traffic conflict and flow management, human factors modeling techniques, practice investigation, workload and risk, perception, performance support and documentation.

The HCI-Aero Conferences on HCI applications in aeronautics originated in Toulouse, France. They have been held biannually since 1986, and have alternated between Europe and North America since 1998. The 2006 conference was held in Seattle, Washington. This conference was held in cooperation with ACM's Special Interest Group on Computer-Human Interaction (ACM SIGCHI).
