Lourdes

Most Reverend Jacques Perrier attended public schools and university until he gained a Higher Studies Diploma in Classical Letters at the Sorbonne University in Paris. He was ordained priest in 1964 for the Archdiocese of Paris.

He was student chaplain until 1979, parish priest, rector of Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral, in charge of catechesis. He was installed Bishop of Chartres in 1980.

After admiring the stained-glass windows in Chartres for nearly seven years, he had the privilege of seeing the mosaics of the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary in Lourdes restored and completed : he is now presenting them to you.
