Second world war and 12-inch actions figures
Quatrième de couverture
In this little book we are not going to present an apology for the 'military Barbie doll' - as spiteful tongues often call largescale figurines, but rather let you see what is likely to become a real collecting phenomenon: 12-inch figurines.
It is no longer playing or even model-making which justifies the purchase of these figurines, but the desire to create a most realistic figurine, the closest thing to historical exactitude.
Here our behaviour depends on these wishes. We have only to adapt our first realisations to the skills of a budding figurine-maker. Here, our objective is to show the creations which should not take you more than three or four hours of your time. An ideal solution for enlightened amateurs.
The figurines presented in these pages however are the fruit of many hours of documentary research and gathering of spare parts.
The success of a beautiful figurine comes more from accumulating unused parts recovered from model boxes or bought loose from specialised shops than actual manual skill.
