Yves Manciet was born in Bordeaux on 8th March 1925. He decided to become a photographer and went to the first Cannes Film Festival in 1946. He met many stars for the first time, including Picasso and Brigitte Bardot.
He made a name for himself through the quality and originality of his photos and became a correspondant for the American magazine, Life. In 1950, he joined the photography agent New York Times Pictures. He became a freelance photographer for all the French journals, in particular Paris Match.
After 1990, he left Paris for Lyon, and then Bergerac, where he set up his photography laboratory. In 2015, Les Dossiers d'Aquitaine gathered together his work and published this album.
