Why ? consists of an extended series of questions about the nature of things, and particularly about the singular thing that is a rose. It begins with and revolves around Angelius Silesius's famous line, « The rose is without why, it blooms simply because it blooms. » Why ? makes a reverse proposition, questioning the thing so that it will bloom.

Biographie

Laurent Albarracin was born in 1970 in Angers, France. He lives in the Corrèze region of south-central France. He is an editor of Le Cadran ligné editions and works with Pierre Vinclair and Guillaume Condello on the online review Catastrophes. His most recent publications include Plein vent (Pierre Mainard), Res rerum (Arfuyen), and L'Herbier lunatique (Rougerie).
